<image:caption>The International Bomber Command Centre provides a home for the collective story of Bomber Command. In doing so it creates a focus for the remembrance of bomber command and the role it, and thousands of airmen, played during WWII. These new displays complement other exhibitions and interpretive displays on offer at the other sites across the country by providing a permanent telling of the story that respects the contributions of veterans without avoiding some of the difficult questions associated with aerial conflict. In recognition of the ongoing legacy of Bomber Command the IBCC has been designed to accommodate adaptable exhibition and installation spaces for temporary and touring exhibition programmes. <image:caption>Exploring the powerful and sinister story of the transatlantic slave trade from its roots to its pervasive global legacy, the International Slavery Museum offers a challenging and fascinating experience. Using innovative ways of telling the story, it’s very much a sensory and engaging journey, using movement, sound and touch as well as striking visual appeal to reach out to the visitor. Objects are the starting point for discovery and our varied interpretative techniques, with interactive and multimedia installations, provide opportunities for story telling, music making and drama, as well as areas for rest and quiet reflection. The rich displays challenge visitors’ perceptions and attitudes, and encourage debate on a range of issues. International Slavery Museum</image:caption>

The museum will sit within a new-build extension that will serve to add capacity to the current library building and provide a range of new and enhanced services for visitors and library users. The museum will focus on Dunfermline's history across the last four centuries, telling a story not currently addressed in other heritage locations. <image:caption>Redman Design worked closely with the National Museum of the Royal Navy to create a new series of galleries that tell the story of the Royal Navy throughout the 20th Century. Situated within the historic Storehouse 10, located at Portsmouth’s historic dockyard, the new galleries connect to the story of the sailing Navy through a new link building, allowing the museum to tell the whole story of the Royal Navy from its inception to the modern day for the first time. The new gallery explains the changing nature of naval technology and the global reach of the navy’s operations in peacetime and conflict through the eyes and the experiences of ordinary service personnel. <image:caption>When coming to this project at Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, one of the things that most excited us was the fresh approach to the display of ethnographic material that the museum team was undertaking. Interpreting the collection through the voices and experiences of young people and source communities brings a new dynamic to the displays and new relevance to the collections, something we have responded to in our approach to the gallery design. Working closely with the museum team has enabled Redman Design to deliver a remarkable transformation of the gallery, into a space that is vibrant, welcoming and dynamic and which breathes new life into the display of this important collection. The extensive displays include objects from the natural history, Egyptian, Greek, ethnographic, archaeology, geology, costume, furniture, textiles, social history, ceramics, decorative and fine art collections. <image:caption>The new special exhibition at the Ulster American Folk Park, ‘Bad Bridget’, tells the story of women from Ireland who migrated to North America during the 18th and 19th centuries and the challenges they faced. For many women the American Dream became a nightmare of poverty, criminalisation, and discrimination. Often depicted as troublemakers, lone women were described as ‘Bad Bridgets’.
